Funeral Service for Louise Elsie Christians, 87, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Eden Reformed Church in Herman, Minnesota with Pastor Ted Graf officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Christians, Kyle Christians, Ashley Christians, Jodi Kusinski, Dave Kusinski, Keith Fisher, LaDonna Fisher and Jennifer Halberg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Louises Great-Grandchildren . Special Music will be provided by Judy Schuck, Betty Venenga and Brenda Seemen. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Herman. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 25th from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney Funeral Home in Herman. Louise Elsie (Bohnart) Christians was born at Sibley, Iowa on October 14, 1922 to parents August J.F. Bohnart and Emma Marie (Nachtigal) Bohnart. She was baptized on January 14, 1923 at American Lutheran Church in Viola Township and confirmed in the same church on July 20, 1938. On February 10, 1940 she was united in marriage to Harold Christians by the Rev. E.R. Sommerfeld, pastor of the Lutheran Church in Viola Township. They farmed in the Little Rock, Iowa area for twenty years. In 1962, they moved to the Herman, Minnesota area where they farmed for seven years. At that time they moved into Herman where she resided until her death. She became a member of the Eden Reformed Church soon after their move to Herman. Louise worked outside her home until the age of 79. She taught Sunday School and was active in the music department for many years. Louise passed away at the West Wind Village in Morris, Minnesota on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the age of 87 years and 8 days. Louise is survived by three children: Morris Butch (Marilyn) Christians of Elbow Lake, Minnesota, Leon Christians of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and Cheryl (Gerald) Amborn of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota; daughter-in-law: Mary Ann Christians of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; God-Children: LaDonna Fisher of Worthington, Minnesota and Jodi Kusinski of Bloomington, Minnesota; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her husband: Harold, Daughter: Connie, Son: Merle, Parents: August and Emma Bohnart, Grandchildren: Shawn Eugene Christians and Mark Hagen Christians, Sisters: Ella Mary, Margaret and Lillian, and Brother: Raymond.
