Luke Christians

Luke Alan Christians was born June 29, 1979 to Terry and Robin Christians at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN. Luke, along with his siblings, Adam, Eric and Anne were raised on “The Farm” near Herman, MN. He attended and graduated from Herman-Norcross High School in 1998. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1998 where he served four years before joining the United States National Guard where he continued his service for the next sixteen years. Luke was deployed in 2003 to Iraq and called to action multiple times on home soil. Luke retired, honorably, after twenty years of service to his country in December 2018.

Luke was united in marriage to Courtney Rinke on August 15, 2009 in Herman. Together they made a family of four children: Kadaan, Ainsley, Remington and Sutton.

Luke worked for CHS New Horizons Ag Services where he appreciated his job and all of his co-workers. He deeply enjoyed the time he spent surrounded by his kids and family. Luke loved to spend free time hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He was a true fan of the Minnesota Wild and Vikings. Luke was a loving son, brother, and loyal friend, but the job he loved most was being a daddy. Luke passed away July 5, 2019 at his residence in Wheaton.

Luke will be missed by his four kids: Kadaan, Ainsley, Remington and Sutton Christians of Wheaton; parents Terry and Robin Christians of Herman; brothers: Adam Christians of Fergus Falls, MN; and Eric (Jennie) Christians of West Fargo, ND; sister Anne (Matt) Fridgen of Moorhead, MN; grandmother Joanne Gilbertson of Moorhead, MN; nieces and nephews: Holli and Jason Christians; Ellie and Katie Christians; Shelton, Kasey and Jake Fridgen; along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Luke was preceded in death by many grandparents and two uncles.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman with Rev. Heather E. Klason officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman. Visitation will continue Friday morning one hour prior to service time at the church.

Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman.
