Margaret lived her entire life in the triangle of Dumont, Wheaton and Browns Valley. She married Elmer Vollmers on October 27, 1934. They farmed east of Dumont from 1934 until 1942 and then moved to a farm north of Browns Valley, later moving to the outskirts of Browns Valley. During their life together, Margaret was a help-mate in their farming operation, but also she was an entrepreneur starting and running her own ceramic business for over 20 years. After retiring she worked in the Browns Valley Health Center for some years before moving back to Wheaton. Margaret enjoyed bowling right up to the age of 83, and also enjoyed reading and quilting. She had a passion for her flowers, flowers which drew the attention and admiration of her many friends and relatives. Margaret was referred to as the original liberated woman by her daughters and granddaughters for she did most everything in life she wanted to do, and very little of what she didnt want to do. Margaret passed away at the Browns Valley Health Center on August 18, 2010. Margaret is survived by her son: Ken and wife Colleen Vollmers of Hudson, Wisconsin, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband of 59 years and three of her children, Joyce, Verdi and Karen. Memorial preferred to the Browns Valley Health Center.
