Margaritae Handel of Minneapolis, formerly of the Wheaton " Dumont area, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 7, 2007 at the Prairie Home Lodge in Brooklyn Center, MN. Mrs. Handel was 87 years old. Funeral Services for Margaritae Handel will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. Margaritae was born May 25, 1920 in Chokio, Minnesota to Frank and Maggie Schott. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Chokio High School. Margaritae then attended Business School in Morris, Minnesota. She was a welder in Long Beach, California during World War II and traveled for a number of years before settling into farming with her late husband John Handel, in the Dumont, Minnesota area. John passed away in 1985. She later moved to Minneapolis where she made her home for the last 33 years. Margaritae is survived by her son: Lester (Debbie) Price of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, daughter Ramona Price and friend Sandy Brady of Oakdale, Minnesota, and daughter Evelyn Croft of Detroit, Michigan, 4 grandchildren: Tarin Stark and John Price, Adam and Aaron Froland, 6 great grandchildren, and her sister: Rosie Clouse of Fargo, North Dakota. Margaritae was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
