***PLESAE NOTE CHANGE IN SERVICE DATE BECAUSE OF WEATHER*** Funeral Mass for Marlene Fiedler, age 74, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Fr. Joe Vandeberg and Fr. Stanley Wieser Celebrants. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, December 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Marlene Janice Johnson was born on April 5, 1939 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Clarence and Evelyn (Luebke) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Fergus Falls. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1957. Marlene worked at Savings and Loan Bank in Fergus Falls until she met the love of her life Raymond Fiedler. They were married on June 18, 1960 in Fergus Falls. The couple made their home in Wheaton where Marlene was an active homemaker devoted to her husband and four children: Craig, Lynn, Rick and Kim. Once the kids left home Marlene worked at Della''s Drapery and Farm Bureau Insurance Agency. In the summer, you could find Marlene out in the garden. She loved cooking and canning. There were always cookies in the cookie jar or something in the oven for company. She enjoyed camping, scrapbooking, quilting and being involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. Marlene treasured her family and friends for whom she always had a sympathetic ear and caring heart. Marlene was a devoted member of Ave Maria Catholic Church where she was active in the quilting group and Ladies Aid. Marlene took much pleasure in quilting and sewing. Her work was a direct reflection of her love for those who received them. Over the years she had sewn many quilts for family, friends and for many people thru her work at the church. Marlene passed away on December 1, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford South Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Marlene is survived by her husband Raymond of Wheaton; mother Evelyn Kidder of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; four children: Craig (Linda) Fiedler of Moorhead, Minnesota; Lynn (Rick) Farr of Cold Spring, Minnesota; Rick (Dori) Fiedler of Rothsay, Minnesota and Kim (Brian) Hankel of Hartford, South Dakota; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Cole, Victoria and Noah Fiedler of Rothsay, Minnesota and Brooke and Dylan Hankel of Hartford, South Dakota; one sister Barb (Floyd) Neuleib of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; one brother Allan Johnson of Bloomington, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Marlene was preceded in death by her father Clarence Johnson and step-father Larry Kidder.
