Mary Bertram

Mary Ann Bertram, age 84, of Herman, Minnesota passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Grace Home in Graceville, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eden Reformed Church in Herman, MN with Pastor Ted Graf officiating. Organist will be Lois Bartell with special music by Greg Sperr.

Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery rural Herman, MN. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Findlay. Pallbearers will be: Pete Kaiser, Byron Gilbertson, Terry Bartell, Brent Bertram, Ronnie Volker, Rick Bertram, Mike Bertram and Dave Riedner.

Visitation will be held Tuesday one hour prior to service time at the church.

Mary Ann Bertram, daughter of Vern and Dorothea "Dora" (Spohnholtz) Vipond was born at home in Logan Township. She grew up on a farm west of Herman and attended school in Herman. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Henry Bertram in 1949 by Rev. Vern Schendel in Norcross, MN. They farmed and raised their four children west of Herman from the time of their marriage until their retirement in 1978.

Mary Ann was a member of the Eden Reformed Church of Herman and was active in the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes, refinishing furniture and having friends over for card parties. Following Henry's passing in 2006, Mary Ann relocated to the Pullman House in Herman where she enjoyed visiting with her friends every day and appreciated feeling safe and cared for. Most of all Mary Ann was a devoted Christian mother, grandmother great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Mary Ann is survived by three daughters: Jackie Buss of Morris, MN; Monica Bertram of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and Vicki (Tom) Leuthardt of Chokio, MN; daughter-in-law Viola Bertram; one sister-in-law Ardyce Vipond of Sartell, Minnesota and her daughters Gwen and Cindy; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Henry Bertram; son Merlin Bertram; her parents Vern and Dora Vipond; brother Bill Vipond; and nephew Rolly Vipond.
