Merle Fahleen

Merle Fahleen, of Wheaton, MN passed away at the Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, ND on February 14, 2006. Merle had a heart attack and died peacefully at the age of 74. Merle was born in Montevideo, MN on May 23, 1931 to Harry and Fern (Mickle) Fahleen. He was a member of the Wheaton American Legion, International Union of Operation Engineers, Veterans. In his younger years Merle enjoyed racing cars with friends and family and continued this hobby throughout his life. Merle was a heavy equipment operator up until his time of retirement. In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling to auctions and casinos. Merle is survived by his children: Tammy Fahleen (Howard), Fargo, ND, Randy Fahleen, also of Fargo, ND, and Rochelle Peyton of Alexandria, MN. Merles eight grandchildren: Thatcher, Courtney, Dustin, Sam, Jessica, Jeremy, Erica and Stefanie. Merle also had nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother and 4 sisters: Marlene (Merv) Henderson, Minneapolis, MN, Ilene (Del) Fiihr, Shakopee, MN, Bob (Jan) Fahleen, Chokio, MN, Carol Salgren, TX and Patti (Russ) Waskow of White Bear Lake, MN. Merle also had step brothers and sisters in the Siegel family. Merle was proceeded into death by his parents; Harry and Fern, his wife; Jane, one son; Terry, and siblings; Donald, Delaine, Kenny, and Shirley. Funeral Services were held on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 2:00 PM, at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton. Rev. Tom Olson officiated. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. All of Merles Family and friends will act as his Honorary Pallbearers.
