Funeral Service for Owen Rosdahl Simson, 99, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Mike Cieniawski officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Owens nieces & nephews . Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton. Owen Rosdahl Simson was born on July 8, 1908 to William H. and Alfhild (Rosdahl) Simson. He was born on the family farm in Traverse County, as were all of his siblings but one. He remained there his entire life, excluding a brief period working in Montana with his cousins, and the last few years when Owen resided at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Owen attended district 45 country school and Wheaton High School. He obtained the family farm in the 60s. Farming was always of great importance to him, not only as a livelihood, but also as a way of life, especially the livestock he cared for. Owen also worked part time as a salesman for a seed company and selling silos throughout North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. Owen enjoyed gardening and flowers after his years of active farming. Not only did Owen have a deep Christian belief; he also lived it daily his whole life. He was a Sunday school teacher and involved in all aspects of his church fellowships. His surviving families of sisters, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews will always be thankful they had such a truly fine gentleman with such strong moral convictions to follow. His nieces and nephews will always hold a special place in their heart for their Unc . Owen passed away on December 16, 2007 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, Minnesota. Owen is survived by two sisters: Martha Gravatt of Wheaton, Minnesota, and Hilma (Raymond) Bodini of Placentia, California, sister-in-law: Opal Simson of St. Cloud, Minnesota, nephews: Glenn (Sally) Gravatt, Gene (Sharmain) Bodini, Bruce Bodini, David Simson and Dale (Cyndi) Simson, nieces: Sandra Borders, Sherry (John) Hansen and Marsha (Mike) Bratz, as well as three more generations of nieces and nephews. Owen was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: George, Arthur and Alan, sisters-in-law: Catheryn and Genevieve, brother-in-law: Wallace Gravatt, and nephew: Richard.
