Funeral Service for Ray G. Kvale, 77, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, Minnesota with Rev. Roger Rotvold officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, March 31 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman. Interment will be in Aardahl Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bemidji, Minnesota. Ray was born December 17, 1928 to George and Izola (Morgan) Kvale in rural Bemidji, Minnesota. He married Betty Goodnough February 2, 1951 at Bagley, Minnesota. Ray served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953. He and Betty moved to Herman, Minnesota in 1954 where Ray worked for MVBA, Larson Farm Supply, and the Herman Post Office as a rural mail carrier. Ray was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Herman American Legion, Donnelly Rod and Gun Club and was a retired volunteer fireman. Rays interests were hunting, fishing, bowling, and watching sports on TV. Ray passed away March 29, 2006 at the Stevens County Hospital in Morris, Minnesota. Ray is survived wife: Betty of Herman, sons: Paul (Pat) Kvale of Bemidji, MN, Scott Kvale of Bemidji, Kurt (Clare) Kvale of Duluth, MN, daughter: Sue (Mark) Amundson of Herman, grandchildren: Chris Kvale of Minneapolis, MN, Carl Kvale of Alexandria, MN, Kate Kvale of Bemidji, Sara Kvale of Wyoming, MN, Ian, Sam & Megan Kvale of Duluth, Jay Amundson of Coon Rapids, MN & Cassi Amundson of Herman, great-grandchildren: Keaton, Flora & Stella Kvale of Alexandria & Tana Rae Morris of Wyoming, Minnesota. Ray was preceded in death by his parents & several Aunts and Uncles.
