Funeral Service for Raymond Kjorness, age 83, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, Minnesota. Rev. Lloyd Heroff and Rev. Mike Cieniawski will officiate. Organist will be Olivia Richards with special music by Linda Volker. Pallbearers will be Justin Kjorness, Walt Blume, Gary Volker, Myron Holthusen, Travis Kjorness and Ron Volker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymonds grandsons: Justin Kjorness, Joshua Kjorness, Jordan Kjorness and Brayden Ness. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman. Raymond Leslie Kjorness was born on October 5, 1929 on a farm between Herman and Elbow Lake in Grant County, Minnesota to Thorvald and Mabel Kjorness. At the age of five his family moved to a farm six miles northeast of Herman where he attended country school until eighth grade. Raymond remained a bachelor until the age of forty, when he married Eunice Mae Wagner on December 16, 1967 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman. The couple continued farming on the family farm until their retirement in 2004 when they moved into Herman. Raymond was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was confirmed in 1944. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. What brought true joy to Raymond was spending time with his family, especially his four grandsons: Justin, Joshua, Jordan and Brayden. Raymond passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. Raymond is survived by his wife Eunice of Herman; two children: Jeff (Juli) Kjorness of Danube, Minnesota and Lisa (Gary) Ness of Cyrus, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Justin, Joshua and Jordan Kjorness and Brayden Ness; and three sisters: Linda Rarer of Norcross, Minnesota; Lenora Volker of Barrett, Minnesota and Dorothy Fabian of Herman, Minnesota. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ted, and sisters: Millie Schuman and Delores Moldenhauer.
