Richard DeBrobander

Richard DeBrobander, age 100, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota formerly of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away on December 17, 2017 at Health East Pillars Hospice in Oakdale, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Michael Breach officiating. Organist will be Sara Lee Rinke with special music by John Nerenz.

Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Pallbearers will be Bradley Millard, Spencer Millard, Rod DeBrobander, Jim Gaulrapp, Roger Schmidt, Myron Schmidt, Gordon Christensen and Rev. Gordon Bock.

Visitation will be Thursday morning one hour prior to service time at the church.

Richard (Dick) DeBrobander was born in Cottonwood, Minnesota on November 15, 1917. He was the son of August and Bertha DeBrobander. Richard graduated from Wheaton High School in 1935.

He married Gertrude Schmidt on April 25, 1938 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dumont, Minnesota.

Holidays were important to Richard. He enjoyed spending those special days with family and friends. He liked hunting (especially pheasants) in his earlier years. He was always interested in sports and in what was happening around the world. Playing cards with his great-grandchildren brought him much joy. You never found Dick without a Milky-Way candy bar nearby. They were his favorite treat.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Sharon Lee Millard of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Granddaughter, Nadine Millard of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Grandson, Brent (Mary Sue) Millard of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, Great-Grandchildren: Bradley, Spencer, and Anna Marie Millard of Lino Lake, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude, parents August and Bertha DeBrobander, brothers Maurice and Albert, sister Margaret Buss and son-in-law Bradley Millard.
