Robert Berger, 80, of Bloomington, Minnesota passed away on July 2, 2016 at a nursing home in Moorhead, Minnesota attended to by his family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bainbridge Funeral Chapel in Herman, Minnesota with Rev. David Hanssen officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the Chapel starting at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman. Military Rites will be provided by the Herman American Legion Post #378.

Robert Stanley Berger, eldest son of Stanley and Nina (Sellseth) Berger was born May 11, 1936 on the family farm in Norcross. He attended school in Herman and later the Wahpeton State School of Science to learn the trade of auto body repair. He worked with his brother and dad in the family car business, Berger Chevrolet in Herman. He joined the Army in 1962, serving in the Third Armored Division. He was deployed to Florida during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bobby returned from the service and worked as a mechanic and auto body man for several years before going farming in 1971. In his later years, he rented out the land and spent his time restoring classic cars, buying and selling property, and being a landlord at a small apartment building in southwest Minneapolis.

On August 27, 1966 he married Dianne Hanson of Fergus Falls, Minnesota at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus. Their first son Jason was born in 1967, followed two years later by their daughter, Greta.

Bobby is survived by his brother Lynden "Buddy" Berger of Las Vegas, NV; children: Jason Berger of Edina, Greta Myers of Moorhead; grandchildren: Elizabeth Myers of Austin, TX; Shania Myers of Moorhead; Zachary Myers of Moorhead; Ava Berger, Sunni Berger, and Jackson Berger of Edina.

He is preceded in death by his father Stanley Berger, mother Nina Berger, and father-in-law Norman Hanson.
