Ronald Hervey

Ronald Hervey, age 91, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at Sanford Hospital in Wheaton.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton with Pastor Tim Shekleton officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 9th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday afternoon.

Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton.

Ronald Hervey born January 22, 1931 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Ralph and Mary Hervey.  He started school there and then moved to a farm in Clifton Township east of Wheaton in 1942.  He attended Country School half a mile south of the farm, and he graduated high school at Morris Ag School. This is where he met Ila Mae Hormann. They were married on August 11, 1949. Wayne arrived during a snowstorm in 1950.  In 1955 they moved to their present farm, where Carla was born in 1956, Rosemary in 1960 and Michael in 1963.

Ron and Ila were married for seventy years and one day until her death in 2019.

Ronald served on Clifton Township for eons until he aged out. They appreciated his leadership and bookkeeping skills.  He was a gifted mechanic and constructed many, many grain bins for over thirty years.  From his farm he also sold and traded Chaparral snowmobiles and Conklin products. He was the local “go to” for fixing Nipco Heaters.  He served as Deacon for the Presbyterian Church where they worshiped until the church closed. He also helped with construction of the Presbyterian Church and Wheaton Elevator.  Ron started farming as a youngster under his father’s wing. He celebrated the fact that his wife was his main helper on the land he farmed and loved for so many years. He was proud to have finished up his farming years by assisting his son, lastly running the combine and doing tillage at age ninety.

Ronald will be missed by his children Wayne and Cathy Hervey of Wheaton, their children Gage and Ronnette Hervey, Fargo, and Kelly and Shawn Levi, and daughter Ziva of West Fargo.  Carla Klug and Jeff Riley of Watertown, SD and her son Travis and Sharon Klug, their children Connor and Trinity Herman of Thomas, SD.  Rosemary and Bob Rybka of Scottsdale, AZ and Michael and Lorrie Hervey of Wheaton their sons Steven Hervey and Dana Riepe of Deer Creek, MN and Paul Hervey and fiancé Jayante Kotila and son Tobias Hervey of Eden Valley, MN.

Greeting him at the gates of Heaven are his lovely wife Ila Mae, brother Jack Hervey, special cousin David Hervey and parents Ralph and Mary and many in-laws.
