Funeral Service for Shiela Johnson, age 70, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Honorary Urn Bearers will be Shiela's nieces and nephews. Organist will be LeAnn Bjornson with special music provided by Pam Rud. Visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Friday, August 30th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 Prayer Service and Time of Sharing. Visitation will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Inurnment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Shiela Rae Schmidt was born July 20, 1943 in Graceville, Minnesota to Leslie and Alice (O'Donnell) Schmdit. She went to country school (District 18), then graduated from Wheaton High School in 1961. Shiela married Darrel Johnson, and they had two children - Kelly (Krauth) and Kit. She has lived in the Wheaton area her whole life. Shiela loved to golf and play cards. She played scrabble and often went to state competitions. She also enjoyed cross country skiing, boating, and just being outdoors. Most of all, Shiela loved spending time with her family; especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shiela led a healthy vibrant life until the last few years when she battled cancer and heart issues. She had open heart surgery January 15, 2013; and again on August 24, 2013. Shiela went to her resting place on August 26, 2013 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Shiela is survived by her children Kelly Krauth of Wheaton; and Kit (Angie) Johnson of Wheaton; Siblings: Joan Thoennes of Brooklyn Center, Kay Berghuis of Alexandria, Lucy Bruns of Wheaton, Leslie "Skip" (Marg) Schmidt of Spring Lake Park, and Mike (Connie) Schmidt of Wheaton; five grandchildren: Amanda (Paul) Frisch, Leah Krauth (Kelsey Schultz), Tara (Eric) Turner, Haley Johnson and Nathan Johnson; four great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Marissa, Charlie and Brock; and special friend Milo Parham of Gage, Kentucky. Shiela was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Clayton, Jerry, Pete and Dale; and son-in-law Charles Krauth.
