Siobhan McCarthy

Siobhan McCarthy, age 18, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away September 23, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton with Fr. John Paul and Fr. Stanley Wieser Celebrants. Organist will be Cindy Sanasack with special music provided by Marcy LeClair, Whitney Lick and the Ave Maria Catholic Church Choir. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Will McCarthy, Gus McCarthy, Mark McCarthy, Paul Berger, Bill McHugh, Dan McCarthy and Hunter Boe. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Wheaton High School Senior Class and all of Siobhan's cousins. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 27th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service and Time of Sharing Service at Ave Maria Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Monday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Siobhan Kelly McCarthy was the beautiful daughter of Kelly and Bill McCarthy. To know "Chevy" was to know what golden sunshine feels warming your very soul. Siobhan was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota on August 12, 1997. She was baptized into the Catholic faith at Ave Maria where she also received her First Communion and Confirmation. She grew and practiced her faith in her young life and was the Kindergarten Sunday School teacher for the past three years. She played in the St. Paul Bell choir in memory of her brother, Paul Eugene Joseph McCarthy. Siobhan was a senior, honor student and member of the National Honor Society at Wheaton High School. She had many dear and amazing friends here as well as in surrounding states. Chevy was an active athlete participating in track, basketball and volleyball. As much as she enjoyed playing sports, however, she received more pleasure being the number one fan. She was a relentless cheerleader and cheered for her brothers in their wrestling endeavors. Boisterous cheers from the stands, especially at Volleyball games, would shake the rafters - lead by Siobhan McCarthy! She cheered for all the Wheaton sports teams. She went on to cheer for her favorites at matches, meets and games at the regional, state and even national levels! Her enthusiasm and loyalty was infectious. Chevy had been accepted to University of Montana, Missoula for fall semester 2016, where she had intended to study psychology and planned to work with troubled youth. Siobhan left this earthly place on Sept 23, 2015 leaving an unfillable void in the lives of her family and friends. The McCarthy family will never be the same without their blessed gift. She will be greatly missed by her parents Bill and Kelly, sister Sarah, brothers Will, Gus and Mark. Siobhan is also survived by: Maternal Grandmother Rose McCarthy of Marblehead, MA; Aunt Maureen McCarthy of Marblehead, MA and son: Daniel; Aunt JoAnn (Joe) Fannon of Canton, MA; Uncle Gene McCarthy of Salem, MA and children: Jack, Tom and Mike; Uncle Robert J. McCarthy Jr. of Salem, MA and son Zack; Uncle Daniel (Lisa) McCarthy of Marblehead, MA and children: Rory and Westy. Aunt Bobbie Hoye of Longbeach, CA and children: Aaryn and Alex; Aunt Darcy Birchell of Rochester, MN and children: Risha (Damian) Cannaday, MaKenzie (Matt) Wangsness and Gavin; Aunt Karla Ellingson of Chamberlain, SD and children: Jona (Mark),Richie and Adam; Uncle Scott (Dee Dee) Klugman of Wheaton, MN and children: Michael, Tyler and Tori; Aunt Michelle Boe of Graceville, MN and children: Patrick (Nicole) and Hunter; Cousins: Tracy Klugman and Matt Maloney both of Minneapolis, MN. Siobhan was preceded in death by her infant brother Paul, Mark's twin; Aunt Lea Maloney; maternal grandparents Lois (Judy) and Wally Klugman; and paternal grandfather Robert J. McCarthy. We know there is a joyous reunion in heaven between them!
