Funeral Service for Vernon Skip Doll, 82, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Fr. Joe Vandeberg officiating. Organist will be Cindy Sanasack with special music provided by the Ave Maria Church Choir. Interment will be in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, rural Dumont, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Vernon Skip Peter Doll was born June 30, 1928 in Dumont, Minnesota to Bernard Anthony and Johanna Gertrude (Miller) Doll. Skip was baptized and received First Communion and Confirmation at St. Peters Catholic Church in Dumont. He attended school at St. Peters Catholic School. He was a lifetime member of St. Peters Church until it closed, and has since been a member at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton. Skip worked for the Traverse County Highway Department for many years. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. Skip passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Wheaton Community Hospital. Skip is survived by six siblings: Mrs. Blanche Westermeyer of Big Stone City, South Dakota, Eleanore (Henry) Ahrens of Wheaton, Minnesota, twin brother, Bernard Bim Doll of Wheaton, Mrs. Norma Wojtalewicz of Appleton, Minnesota, Ansel Doll of Appleton, Minnesota, and LeRoy Butch (Joyce) Doll of Graceville, Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Helen Frisch, Betty Krauth and Jeanie Geyer, and one brother, Michael Doll.
