Walter Albert Sand

Walter Albert Sand born June 6, 1932, died August 18th, 2023. Walter was born to Mary and Sydney Sand on the Homestead Farm in Blackduck, Minnesota. He joined the army in 1953 and deployed to Germany and that started his career as lineman. In doing so that is how he met his wife Bonnie Johnson/Sand, they moved to Grafton North Dakota and had three girls. He worked for the R.E.A until 1975 when he moved to Port Orchard, Washington. He retired from Puget Power after thirty-one years of service.

He is survived by his three daughters Vicky, Judy, and Peggy; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother Jimmy; and sister Marie.

Walter will be buried next to his wife at West Lakeside Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. on October 3rd, 2023, with a reception following at the Merton Dale American Legion.
