Wayne A. Siegel, age 88, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton with Rev. David Strom officiating. Violinist will be Laurie Strom. Military Rites will be provided by the Merton Dale American Legion Post #80. Wayne A. Siegel was born on December 15, 1926 in Wheaton, Minnesota to Arthur and Lydia (Kunkel) Siegel. As an infant he was baptized at Hope Lutheran Church in Wheaton. He attended country school through eighth grade. At the age of eighteen he entered the service in 1944 and served until 1946. After returning home from the service he worked in a garage for Herman Voss. On March 17, 1948 he married Magdline Eggen in Wheaton. The couple resided in White Rock, South Dakota where Wayne worked for his father-in-law on the farm near White Rock. The couple raised three beautiful daughters: Diane, Faye and Durene. He drove milk truck and built pole barns until 1964. From there they moved to Lamberton, Minnesota where he worked in the hatchery. In 1967 he went to work at the brick yards in Springfield, Minnesota. The couple moved to Deer River, Minnesota in 1968 where they managed a truck stop. The couple returned to Wheaton in 1973 and purchased the Standard Café and Station, which they operated until they retired. Wayne loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. Wayne is survived by his wife Magdline of Wheaton; three daughters: Diane (Lonn) Olson of Monticello, MN; Faye (David) Radanke of Prior Lake, MN; and Durene (Jack) Danielson of Wheaton; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth (Dave) Bothum, Dwayne Olson, Malissa Radanke, Jeana (Jared) Novotny, Michael (Stephanie) Radanke, Tracy (Darin) Hanson, Jackie Danielson and Cassie (Lyle) Yuenger; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Arletta (Marlin) Berneking of Alexandria, MN and Betty (Gerald) Rusch of Wheaton; brother Leland Siegel of Royalton, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers: Harley, Byron, Laurel and Loren.
